Bump on a Log...
We decided it was time to give camping a try. We headed deep into the Roosevelt National Forest on Saturday for a one night 'dress rehearsal' to see if we could camp with a 17 month old. We found a great location, with a nice view, and set up camp. The only problem we had at all until sunset was when Andy bent over and split his shorts. Hahahahaha! Ellie had fun playing in the dirt and helping around the site.
Then all hell broke loose. Late in the evening a group of 30 or so high school kids showed up in the same part of the woods with a keg and a bunch of firearms. We were pretty ticked off to say the least but by then it was too late to tear down and relocate. These idiots were up all night (and morning) yelling, honking, shooting, off-roading, and swearing. Believe it or not, Ellie still managed to get a little sleep, but we did not. It was easily the worst night of camping we have ever been through. Luckily all of our problems were due to these idiots, and not Ellie, so camping is something we may attempt again on a larger scale this summer.

Hooray Ellie!
Camping looks fun. My parents are chickens and don't try enough new stuff with me. I am going to tell them I want to go camping now.
Have fun on future camping trips!
Love,
Harper
Ellie, you are quite the cute little camper. Looks like fun, and Ruby is here with me and says she likes to camp, too. Love all the pictures.

There's a bump on a log in the hole in the bottom of the sea. Oh, sorry I thought you might be singing the song. I remember a teenager who liked to do those things too! When you are a little older maybe ask Daddy about it.
Glad you had fun.
Love Gramma Edna
